{"id":1444,"date":"2014-09-12T16:28:08","date_gmt":"2014-09-12T15:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cloud-client.info\/?p=1444"},"modified":"2014-09-12T17:41:11","modified_gmt":"2014-09-12T16:41:11","slug":"tip-configure-hidden-vmware-settings-that-are-not-available-in-the-igel-linux-setup-incl-registry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cloud-client.info\/?p=1444","title":{"rendered":"Tip: Configure hidden VMWare View settings that are not available in the IGEL Linux Setup incl. registry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"f1b57b4156f3c43e8a7d72dffc4b2e52\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\r\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-5449811010861855\";\r\n\/* blog.cloud-client.info 2 *\/\r\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"6689524735\";\r\ngoogle_ad_width = 468;\r\ngoogle_ad_height = 60;\r\n\/\/-->\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\r\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hello Folks,<\/p>\n<p>you want configure a few more settings for the VMWare View client like mentioned in the following links:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/kb.vmware.com\/selfservice\/microsites\/search.do?language=en_US&amp;cmd=displayKC&amp;externalId=2053644\">Setting Frames for Real-Time Audio-Video<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/support\/viewclients\/doc\/horizon-view-client-linux-release-notes.html\">VMWare View Client Release Notes<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and maybe other Sources.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of these settings are currently not available in the Setup\/Registry provided with the IGEL Setup \/ UMS Profile, but how can you apply it if you need it?<\/p>\n<p>Quite simple, open the IGEL Setup or the UMS Profile and browse to System-&gt;Firmware Customization -&gt; Custom Commands -&gt; Desktop Commands.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;Custom Command Desktop Final&#8221; add the following lines, this sample is for Real-Time Audio-Video Frames configuration.<\/p>\n<p>echo &#8216;rtav.srcWCamFrameWidth=&#8221;320&#8243;&#8216;&gt;&gt;\/etc\/vmware\/config<br \/>\necho &#8216;rtav.srcWCamFrameHeight=&#8221;240&#8243;&#8216;&gt;&gt;\/etc\/vmware\/config<\/p>\n<p>Repeat this for all settings you want to deploy, the text between the &#8216;&#8230;.&#8217; is the parameter, the configuration will be added to the \/etc\/vmware\/config file after a reboot. If you finished the configuration apply the settings and reboot the device.
